I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps adults with a history of trauma, addiction, and mood disorders who struggle with managing daily life and want support and skills.
My philosophy centers around the idea that we are doing the best we can with what we have, and that it is the way we are using our strengths that needs tweaking, not a lack of strength. I believe that shame, guilt, and a distrust of change are often at the root of dysregulation. My goal is to support people in feeling seen and capable.

Life and our own histories convince us daily that we are not worthy in a voice that is so convincing and yet is not truthful. Choosing to start therapy is an important step on the journey and can give you the tools to set boundaries and fight for the life you have always wanted to live. Therapy should be a place where we feel challenged and empowered, and you walk away knowing that you can show up for yourself and your loved ones even in the hard moments.
If there are two things on my mind at any one time, they are my cats and traveling. I love to be a homebody and spend quality time on my couch with my cats and husband, or I love to be out having an adventure somewhere new. I also enjoy cooking, video games, and spending time with loved ones. If it is nerdy, chances are good I have strong opinions about it.

Allison Howells, LPC, is a therapist at Hello Me Therapy LLC. She sees clients in person and virtually in Portland, Oregon. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon in Business and a minor in psychology, and a Master's of Applied Psychological Sciences from Pacific University.
