Consistent care with a therapist to support sustainable
change in how you care for your mind and body.
The complexities of life are catching up with you. You’re starting to recognize patterns in your life, but cannot seem to shake them. Food (and the wide range of emotions around it) are making life feel unpredictable. And at the end of the day, it’s shame that is at the forefront of your desire for change which feels downright bad and unhelpful. You can’t shame your way into feeling better.
The accountability of a consistent space and the steadiness of a provider who can meet you where you’re at helps us get you to a place of regulation and self-trust.
Life with an eating disorder means that you are constantly at odds with your multiple meals a day and living in your body 24/7. Eating disorders thrive with rigidity and rules, but it’s gotten to the point where it’s controlling your life. Therapy allows us to explore how those food rules are serving you as we work towards greater trust in your body and more flexibility around food.
Experiencing trauma can shape how safe you perceive the world to be, and how safe you feel in your body. When your nervous system is on high alert, everyday situations can feel overwhelming and unpredictable. Trauma-informed counseling focuses on helping you understand your responses with compassion as we work towards a greater sense of safety, regulation, and resiliency.
If you’ve spent years being told your body is the problem, it makes sense that caring for yourself feels hard AF. Body image counseling helps you move away from shame and constant self-monitoring. Instead, we work towards building trust and neutrality towards your body as you work towards caring for yourself more consistently and sustainably.
Anxiety and depression can feel like being stuck on an emotional rollercoaster - intense highs, heavy lows, and very little predictability. You wish you could “just handle things better” and are basically a professional at blaming yourself. Counseling allows you to understand the complexities of unhelpful patterns, instead of oversimplifying them.
Our team is trained in brain-based therapy. This relies on your brain’s ability to reorganize itself with new information to promote healthier, sustainable behaviors and emotions.
We don’t believe in weight-centric or shame-based approaches to mental health. Our work focuses on returning to internal cues and health-promoting behaviors, regardless of your body size.
Meeting weekly, consistently at the same time isn’t just for accountability. This cadence supports skill-building, giving you time to practice in real life and return with reflections.
Hello Me Therapy is in-network with OHP Health Share / CareOregon, Aetna, Pacific Source (commercial plans only), and Moda. If you have another insurance or a more restrictive plan, we are happy to provide you with a monthly superbill which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Brain-based therapies help to rewire someone’s neural pathways. Therapies like EMDR, ETT, BrainSpotting, TMS, and NeuroFeedback fall under this category. Brain-based therapies can help resolve symptoms that might be difficult to access in traditional talk therapy and oftentimes treat symptoms at a faster rate. At Hello Me this is done with consent of our clients and will be brought up if it could potentially be more helpful than talk therapy for a client.
Back to the questions
We typically keep clients at a weekly cadence because it is the best match for effectively addressing symptoms. However, this does not mean that you will need weekly therapy forever. Our clients often work with us for 1-4 years depending on complexity. For those looking to get fast results, we recommend checking out our Therapy intensives.
Back to the questions
Absolutely! We work with trauma, anxiety, depressions, life changes, grief, and relationship difficulties. Some of our clients also have disordered eating that does not meet criteria for an eating disorder, and we are happy to provide support. We take pride in meeting you where you are at and want to make sure that you get your needs met.
