My Approach

I really enjoy supporting people who are working through childhood trauma — whether that comes from foster care or adoption, abuse, or other painful experiences — as well as folks navigating disordered eating. I also love working with LGBTQ clients, neurodivergent folks, and people living with chronic illness or medical trauma.

I tend to work best with people who are tired of fighting themselves and want to move toward more peace with their bodies, their needs, and who they are. You absolutely don’t need to know how to get there yet. Part of our work together is figuring out what your strengths are, how to use them, and gently exploring what’s getting in the way.

I’m also passionate about weaving social justice into the therapy process. Together, we’ll look at how systems of oppression shape your experiences, your relationship with your body, and how you move through the world. This is especially important when we’re working on disordered eating or body image. My approach is grounded in Body Trust, Health at Every Size (HAES), and Intuitive Eating — frameworks that center the belief that every body is worthy of care, no matter its size, shape, ability, or health status.

We can make space for the grief of living in a culture steeped in anti-fat bias, while also building the skills and perspectives that help you push back against those pressures and find more ease with food, movement, and your body.

Some of the approaches I use include narrative therapy, parts work, feminist therapy, and EMDR.
